Stephen Beebout Releases "When You Were Leaving" May 25, 2016 14:31

 

Stephen Beebout has released his first video off of Morning Incense & God. The whole thing is lip-synced. Yes, you read that correctly. The musician known for minimalist recordings and live performances has released a completely fabricated video. Though Stephen insisted on recording every track completely live for Morning Incense & God, the "artist" seems to have no problem faking an entire performance for the video. The label sought outside opinions on the matter from sources close to the musician. One source was quoted saying, "Yeah, it's cool that he recorded his record live but this lip-syncing catastrophe? He's obviously not a real artist." Another close friend stated, "I think he's lost it. Totally not punk." Everyone here at the label is still a little unclear on Beebout's sudden move toward the pop world but nevertheless, here it is...
